“... 10 years after sun-rise....”
Safe Food Corparation (SFC) puts its first step in Turkish dried fruit manifacturing and export sector with a sultana factory which is still at Menemen.
At the very beginning of the operation the company trade mark was “Quality Fruit Corporation”(QFC) which gives the Turkish shortcut and name as ;
”KFC Gıda Sanayi Ticaret İthalat İhracat Yatırım A.Ş.”
Ninetees are the years that “safety” word which is considerably measurable than the “quality” word takes advanced importance in food processing and the company trade mark changed to “Safe Food Corporation” .
SFC kept its structure of a being Turkish – Dutch joint venture until year 2000.
In this period SFC firstly served to industries by its high level of hygene,quality and safety standarts.In the 2nd half of years 90 ‘s SFC proved its aim to be a market leader especially in UK after M&S approval.
In following period SFC established its retail line and started to serve to supermarket chains by the advantage of being an origin packer.
That stage stated as a corner stone for Turkish Dried Fruit sector and all of the suppliers have had to make their investments rapidly to give same level of service.
In year 1996 apricot plant , in year 1997 fig plant established and within short period they repeat the success of sultanas.
At year 2000 shareholder structure has been changed and almost total of the shares owned by Celepler Group.
In the same year management re-organised its marketing concept by new and enlarged “safety” perspective and also capital structure of the company improved.
This concept and strong financial structure brought an opportunity to prepare progressive growth.
This new “safety” concept is catching a point view on safety – innovation –respect triangle and determines safety layer with four elements as ;

safety in service
saftety in company structure&organisation
safety in trade
This phylosophy found a strong demand in the market within short term.
As a response of that demand , investments and agricultural infrastructure has been immediately finalised for sun-dried tomatoes and pickled products in seperate 2 plants as well as in wide agricultural lands.
SFC put a new designed service for namely food service and catering sector called “from the field to the restaurant” which basicly means whole supply chain starting from the seeds to till to warehousing and distribution handled by SFC.
This service achieved to the levels that we built our own trade and distribution company in US which gives to its customers a comfort of buying products controlled from the growing stage .
In year 2003 another marketing concept designed and started its first deliveries with the “Mediterranean Wellness” approach.
Again in year 2003 another innovation launched which we call as “Ready To Process”which may ultimately change the destiny and the way of dried fruit processing.
This innovation enables to handle all costly and risky in-house operations of industries such as conditioning ,decreasingor increasing the aW , blending at the origin with a same standarts or even better.Also all of the food-proof plastic packing materials are collecting back after the usage and this innovation already achieved a good scores in 3 different countries.
In 2004 investment of Ready to Eat factory has been finalised and marketing campaign has been started.
Today SFC is serving to 84 importers with a 4 main distributors in 24 countries.
SFC annual export volume growth upper than 20 milion USD and especially in last 3 years it took its leading position which awarded by official organisations.

Of course achieving to that level of success is possible;
by focusing to the goaşs as a whole team; by tracing closely all requirements and expectations of customers and by conveying this datas to all activities. These datas were analysed and special processes are developped in modern factories managing by food engineers.Of course never sacrifising from the food safety.
By a paralel studies with leading chocolate industries world-wide ; special processes such as ;
guaranteed <500 cfu/g level of low mould products
or
-AFF (absolute free flowing) guarantees that 3 berries of sultanas are not sticking each other
are developped.
Again by paralel studies with those giant indutries a natural processes are designed to use the dried fruits in cerial bar and musli applications without any impact of osmothic moisture transfers between the fruits and other ingredients.
SFC has ISO 9001-2000 , HACCP and , BRC Higher Level accreditation.With its acredited laboratories and experienced process controll team SFC is making analyses and measures at the same sensitivity level with its served customers.
This anlyses are counter checking by ring tests in 2 different internationa laboratory organisations regularly and achieving the scores which we deserve the confident of our customers.
With its 135 staff and 1500 workers in high season, SFC has the largest employement of the sector and complies SA-8000 standarts and all ethical requirements, which audited and approved by its customers.
SFC was the candidate of the 2003 Environment Awards by its water treatment system which is the largest in its sector.This award presented by Aegean Region Chamber of Industry .Water treatment systems are applying a biological treatment and the waste water are using as an irrigation water in neighbourhood agricultural lands.
“Sunny Fruit” and “Brezza” brands are the mirrors of SFC's experience and fastidiosness and SFC also serves to European leading supermarket chains by their private lables especially in UK market.
SFC is also serving to Turkish leading food industries and puts its experience with same level of mentality and discipline into their service .
Education is the biggest support of SFC in all of the processes and including the board members all of the team are participating to theorical and practical on –job educations.
This educations are not limited only with the company and farmers in our “farmers programm” as well as our other suppliers are educating by our agricultural engineers and also by professors from Aegean University .
Additionally this training net is enlarged to our customer and distributor area and at the beginning of year 2003 together with our main distributors and key customers in different markets we have made a “Strategy Searching Conference” and the new strategies which shaped by latest trends are established.
In the light of this new strategies we have started to “process development and process management” to prepare the necessary changes and improvements and Prof.Arman Kırım lead to this workshops from the beginning..
In year 2003 we have had 14 educations by a whole team and we have had 2 advisor for whole year through who are experts into their area.
SFC will continue to give the same service to its customers with the same discipline and mentality and it will give a shape to next 10 years by the reponsibility of their trust.
